ST. COLUMBA’S COMMUNITY FOUNDATION – “KEY TO A BETTER FUTURE”

In 2007, the Church Meeting decided to make furnished office and meeting space available at no charge to various city-based charities to use as their base from which to serve the community. The church is a space home for these charities.

These charities collectively form the St. Columba's Community Foundation.  The Foundation has a dedicated website at www.stcolumbasyork.com

Street Angels York have trained volunteers available in the city centre of York at week-ends from 9:30pm until 3:30am to aid those young people in particular who may find themselves in trouble due to excessive drinking or who may otherwise be vulnerable.

The Island provides one-to-one support via trained mentors to vulnerable children in the 8 to 13 age group who are struggling to cope at home, school or in the wider community, or who are experiencing difficult transitions in their lives.

The Besom in York helps people to help others who do not have the resources to furnish, decorate, maintain, or provide essential items for their accommodation and living.
